I have been writing a personal diary for myself for the last 4 years. I first saw one of my best friends during college who used to write a diary. He never showed me what he wrote (obviously :p) – but he told me that he used to write to reflect upon his life. I didn’t understand him at that time but later in life – I understood how important writing for yourself is!
I don’t write regularly – but majorly write when something important, happy or sad has happened in my life.
And – I definitely write a long diary during the end of every year to reflect upon my whole year, to plan my future.
In this blog post, I would like to put down a few questions (ref. via Jay Shetty) which I use to reflect my previous year and plan out my next year. If you want to gain clarity in your life – consider writing down answers to these questions for your own self:
- What made you most happy this year?
- What made you unhappy this year?
- What do you wish you would have done more of this year?
- What’s something you want to do less of next year?
- What was your biggest success this year?
- When was the moment you failed this year?
- What is Something you want to learn next year?
- What is your favorite way to refuel?
If you answer these questions truly to yourself – I promise you that you will gain a lot of clarity on your past year and your future year!
I wish you a happy and prosperous 2022!
